Abstract

This research correlates the parameters effective porosity, resistance to water penetration and the capillary absorption coefficient, taking advantage of the relationship in the behavior that exists between these and between these and sorptivity. With the objective of designing and validating a mathematical equation to estimate an unknown parameter from three know parameters. Regression analysis is the sta    tool that has been considered appropriate for this purpose. Taking into account that effective porosity and sorptivity as characteristics of hardened concrete, are indicator with significant importance for the evaluation of the durability of reinforced concrete structures. The designed equation achieves an almost perfect model of the interaction with an estimation error equal to zero. Which is corroborated with the validation.
