Abstract

The results of the research carried out to plan a pavement management system for the maintenance of the road network of the “Manabí Guillem” lateral pass of flexible pavement in the city of Portoviejo, province of Manabí, from the abscissa 0+000 to the abscissa 7+400, using the PCI Method. The main objective was to obtain information about the condition of the existing flexible pavement in this section of the road. The process of applying the PCI method consisted first of collecting information in the study area, identifying failures, quantities and their respective severities. Then, the PCI value was calculated for the 3 selected sample units and for the entire study section, covering a length of 7,400 meters. The result obtained was a PCI value of 49, classifying the operational condition as Regular. Finally, a proposed intervention matrix was presented for each type of failure identified in the study area, along with the results of the data analysis and interpretation.
