Abstract

The present work arises from the problem of the lack of coverage of the basic sanitary sewer service in Galayacu, for this purpose it was proposed to carry out an evaluation of the system through observation processes, information collection and calculations of the current sanitary sewer network that allowed verifying, through design criteria established in the CPE INEN Standard 5. Part 9.2: 1997, whether or not it complies with this regulation. As a result of this evaluation, it was determined that the sanitary sewer network meets the design criteria, however, it is necessary to carry out an expansion since currently the coverage is approximately 37%, changes in the pipes from asbestos cement to PVC and a repowering of the wastewater treatment plant that includes changing the bars, installing filter material (ball stone) in the sedimentation chambers, enclosing barbed wire and planting trees with a height of up 5m, wich will help eliminate bad odors.
