As part of the current construction development of the country in the tourism sector, is the Habana SunCuba hotel, which will be located in Playa, in the city of La Habana. The Habana SunCuba hotel project includes a leisure and business hotels. The present work focuses on the leisure hotel whose structural typology consists of columns and shear wall as vertical structure and two possible solutions as horizontal support: reinforced concrete slabs with and without beams systems (flat slab). Due to structural typologies, the geometry of the building and the occupational category, the seismic characterization of the building is carried out for the seismic zone in which it is located according to NC 46: 2017. The seismic characterization is based on the plan and vertical configuration requirements established in NC 46: 2017, the determination of the oscillation period and the verification of Serviceability requirements in terms of drifts and maximum story displacement of the building. The building is modeled using the ETABS program. The comparison of the two possible solutions of structural typologies is presented. It is concluded that both typologies comply the Serviceability requirements and can be used as a structural solution for the building.
