CRITICALITY ANALYSIS OF DETERIORATION IN WATERPROOFING OF A ROOF OF ‘’HERMANOS AMEIJEIRAS’’ HOSPITAL
Abstract
This investigation was carried out on the roof of the fifth floor of the "Hermanos Ameijeiras" Surgical Clinical Hospital located in the Centro Habana municipality, due to the filtration problems that it has presented. The study was carried out to determine the degree of criticality in which the waterproofing system was found. To do this, firstly the roof was inspected to identify the total deterioration, then they were classified according to their origin in the different stages of the project and finally they were subjected to a Criticality Analysis. For this analysis, the frequency of appearance, the impact it could generate and the difficulty of detecting each one were taken into account; giving a total of eight High Criticality deteriorations, five of them originated in the exploitation stage, which represents 62.5% of a total of 19 deteriorations identified throughout the roof area. In addition, the Failure Modes Analysis, Effect and Criticality Analysis tool was used to rank the identified deteriorations, which showed that 90% of the causes of the appearance of deterioration in the roof waterproofing system were due to irresponsibility in the exploitation phase and lack of both preventive and corrective maintenance.
