Policy on disclosure of conflicts of interest

Policy on disclosure of conflicts of interest

A mandatory element in the submission of each manuscript to RCI is the declaration by the authors of the Conflicts of Interest, which are explicitly indicated in the work.

The authors of a manuscript, the editor of the journal that receives it and its reviewers (internal and external), must disclose any conflict of interest that could influence the manuscript or its review and approval. In the event that the authors declare a conflict of interest, this must be reported to the reviewers of the manuscript. In turn, the reviewers selected to evaluate a manuscript must excuse themselves from doing so if they have a conflict of interest with the authors or the subject. The journal guarantees that the most suitable reviewers will be chosen also in terms of thematic and academic compatibility.

Trust is placed in the evaluators for the critical consideration of the contribution. The evaluators will act under the criteria of impartiality, objectivity, promptness, confidentiality, respect and recognition of uncited sources; and they must work in solidarity with the established editorial line.

In the event of a dispute, RCI undertakes to resolve such cases through its editorial board, which will take action to identify and prevent the publication of articles in which cases of malpractice have occurred.
